Sam Phillips has spent the last 15 years at Omnicom – a global leader in marketing communications. She is Chief Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Officer, Omnicom Media Group UK + Chair of OMG UK’s D&I Consultancy + Assistant Dean, Omnicom University (Omnicom’s Global Executive Education programme in conjunction with Harvard Business School professors).
She transitioned to focus on D&I having been OMG UK CMO for over a decade. Prior to Omnicom, Sam spent nine years client-side as Marketing Director at Time Inc (UK) and Head of Marketing at ITV, having started her career at advertising agencies J. Walter Thompson and TBWA.
Sam has been the Government appointed ‘Advertising Sector Champion’ for disability for the past 3 years; sits on the Development Board of RADA, is a member of WACL (Women in Advertising and Communications London), a Fellow of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising and has spoken about D&I / leadership at 10, Downing Street, the Council of Europe and myriad media industry conferences.
Sam is closely aligned with Omniwomen UK + Allies - Omnicom’s agencies in the UK now have equal numbers of men and women in senior leadership, the Exec Sponsor of OPEN Disability UK + Allies, past Exec Sponsor of OPEN Pride UK (LGBT+), and a driver of the #valuable500 programme to change businesses’ perception of the 1.3 billion people with disabilities.
Sam has twice been nominated as a Campaign ‘Top 10 Trailblazer for Change’ and Ad Age cited her in their ‘Women To Watch, Europe 2018’. Sam is widowed and has three children.
